SPIROCLOCK

An open ended project done for a Design and Manufacture class, an original design  and machined at the Engineering Product Innovation center. This clock has the same features of a Spirograph, but rather than using ones hand to move the inner gear around the inside of the outer gear that makes the clock face, it is powered by the clock and time movement and time itself. This project involved product design, gear ratio analysis, material selection, GibbsCAM, and CNC milling. Future improvements: find a way to spring-load a drawing instrument into the gear hand and put a drawing surface over the clock face so that a geometric pattern is created slowly with time, based on the geometry of the interlocking gear teeth.
